Intro5pect, a 5 piece band out of California. A band that I have seen twice, and have had them stay at my house once before as well. On the outside, you might think what the hell is up with this odd group? keyboards, synthesizers? this isn't punk rock at all!! ..well..if you thought that at the beginning of there set, your mind would be changed by the time it was over.
I first seen Intro5pect a few years back at my first concert I ever went to, it was in Eugene, Oregon @ the WOW hall Anti-Flag was playing, along with Dead to Me, and a local band, I forget there name. Intro5pect was the first band to play if I remember correctly, and what drew me to there attention at first was believe it or not, there keyboardist...now call me a perve if you like, but She, that's right She was amazing, she was pissed at the system, could sing and play the keyboard very well. I was in a trance like state for a few moments while she played the intro to there song: Profit Margins. It was like nothing I have ever heard before, the song has on the record a drum machine, because at the time they didn't have a drummer.
Once I heard this I was stoked, I never thought something like this would ever be played at a Punk show, then the lyrics came in and I was just amazed at how angry this band really was, frustrated with politics, sexism, Religious Beliefs being crammed down peoples throats, Corporate Business, Poverty, the list goes on and on.
Gregg who was the singer of Intro5pect at this current time, (is no longer with the band ) had a very distinct voice and you could hear the emotion in his voice. It is sad to know that he is no longer a member of the band.
All members that I know of, excluding their new addition to the band, (replacing Gregg on bass) Landon, are vegetarians. I do not know at this time if Landon is or not, but I would assume he is.
They have a new album coming out this summer, as well as a tour. They have been on labels such as: A-F Records and BlackNoise Recordings.
